As it happens quite often, another rapper has been compared to Tupac, but this time it’s a long time fan and supporter of the rap icon.
Gibbs was signed to Jeezy’s CTE World label back in 2011, but that lasted a year. The two artists would diss each other shortly after. On Saturday morning, Gibbs surprisingly tweeted, “Jeezy like 2pac to me.”
No explanation as to why Gibbs compared Jeezy to Tupac, but the South Carolina native probably has no issue with the tweet. Jeezy once compared himself to Tupac when it came to elevating his music to help lead those in the struggle. “Me and ‘Pac was more so on revolutionary leadership,” Jeezy explained during a 2014 interview with Hot 97.
Clearly a fan, Jeezy also was angered by Billboard’s 2015 ‘Greatest Rappers of all Time’ list. Included on the list was Rakim, Lil Wayne, Lauryn Hill, and Biggie at number one. “No Tupac on the Billboard list?? I’m done!!!,” Jeezy tweeted. Even Snoop Dogg reacted to the list with his own tweet, “This is so disrespectful. !! Whoever did this list need a swift kick in the Ass. No. Tupac.”
“Tupac was the one of the most influential artists of our time. That’s why you still hear his music in the club right now till this day. Think about all the people that came out from his generation and you don’t hear their songs anymore. And, people still have love for Tupac like if he is walking around L.A. somewhere,” Jeezy said on Power 99 FM. “I don’t care if you had a list of 100, he is suppose to be on the list. That’s my problem with it.”

Jeezy has always been a supporter of Tupac. As he recalled on Big Boy TV, during the “east coast west coast war,” Jeezy was locked up and would have arguments with his cellmate when it came to Tupac and Biggie. Tupac passing also hit Jeezy heard. “I never had that connection with any other artist. I like people’s music,” Jeezy said. “But, I just feel I had a connection. I feel he was a fighter. He always fought no matter what. You never heard one time he was like, ‘Oh, no. I’m good on it.’ He was always for the people. He was always rebellious and to me I respected it that because there was no people in the game like that.” As seen above Jeezy also bought himself an euthanasia chain similar to the one Tupac wore the night he was shot in Vegas.
