Sick-cess Was The Reason Tupac Sheltered Outlawz From Fame

Mutah “Napoleon” Beale, former member of the Outlawz, appeared on STM Podcast where he revealed how sick-cess was the reason Tupac sheltered the Outlawz.

As the world reflects this week on the 26th anniversary of Tupac’s demise, Seize The Moment podcast shared a clip from their very first interview with someone very close to Shakur, former Outlawz member Mutah Beale.

Apart from speaking about his early struggles in life, Napoleon now Muslim and living in Saudi Arabia, reflected on his good friend Tupac Shakur. Throughout their rise together along with the other five members of the Outlawz, Napoleon and Tupac were enjoying the life of successful hip hop artists.

Out on bail and signed to Death Row records, Tupac was on top of the hip hop world. His double album ‘All Eyez On Me‘ crushed the competition with over 5 million copies in a matter of months. Along with the chart topping music, were movies and other ventures that made Tupac seem unstoppable.

But, according to Napoleon, Tupac was not a fan of the fame or the success, or rather sick-cess as Tupac called it. “When I look back at it, Pac tried to really shelter us from fame.. If we all in the camera, he was like, “Look ay ya; ya chasing that fame. It’s gonna destroy ya.” he was talking that back then… He used to always call success SICK-cess. He said, we made it to the SICK-cess; he said it’s sickening. And if you look back at it, success from that point of view of fame and that type of lifestyle, it is sickening. People commit suicide. It’s a sickening environment because it’s like a mirage. Everybody has to be who they want you to be, and you cannot be yourself,” Napoleon recalled.
