Ongoing talks about the relationship between Tupac and Jada continued when Tyrin Turner and ED Lover appeared on VLAD TV.
According to Turner, he briefly witnessed the relationship between Jada and Tupac. Turner, along with Tupac and Jada were on set for the Hughes Brothers’ 1993 film ‘Menace II Society.’ This was actually the time Tupac and the Hughes Brothers had their well documented fallout. A fallout that involved a firing, a beat down, and a lawsuit.
Back in 1993, New Line Cinema, the distribution company founded in 1967, had requested Tupac for the Hughes Brothers film Menace II Society. During filming things turned for the worst as Tupac who was slated to play Shariff did not agree with the characters direction. This resulted in a dispute between Allen and Shakur, and ultimately Tupac was fired. Both parties would run into each other during a video shoot and an altercation took place. As a result Tupac was sentenced to 15 days in jail, 30 days probation, $2,000 fine, and 30 days community service.
Aside from talking about Tupac’s issues with the script, Turner touched on seeing Shakur and Pinkett’s interaction with each other. “When I seen Tupac and Jada, they was wrestling,” Turner said starting at the 8:34 mark of the video . “You know how you wrestle your homeboy, they was just wrestling like they were friends. Let’s say Jada is running and Tupac chased her, then he grabbed her and they wrestled in a fun way. Their friendly bond of kinda hanging with each other clowning.” Turner continued to emphasize the word friends as he never saw Tupac and Jada more than just friends.
ED Lover, who also recently appeared on VLAD TV, was around Tupac during his career. In fact, ED Lover saw Shakur in the Casino that night on September 7th 1996. This is the exact casino where Shakur and the Death Row entourage stomped out Orlando Anderson. “When they was leaving out, after police came, they was leaving out,” ED Lover explained. “Pac and them came through. Pac, the whole crew and Suge all of them, they stopped to say what’s up.”
Tupac and Jada just friends?
When it comes to Tupac and Jada’s relationship ED Lover believes it was a friendship and nothing more. “It was a friendship,” ED Lover explained. “I wouldn’t have been worried about how she felt about her friendship with Pac. And Pac has been done for so long now. Why people keep bringing up Pac man? He’s not even here to defend himself or nothing. Are we using him as a selling point.”
According to ED Lover, Will Smith is a trailblazer who opened the doors for many. Still Will Smith has voiced his thoughts about Tupac. Most recently in his book “Will”, the actor says, “In the beginning of our relationship, my mind was tortured by their connection. He was ‘PAC! He triggered the perception of myself as a coward. I hated that I wasn’t what he was in the world, and I suffered a raging jealousy. I wanted Jada to look at me like that.”

Back in 2020, Will Smith first admitted his jealously towards Tupac when he appeared on The Breakfast Club. When asked by co-host Charlamagne Tha God if Will was ever jealous of Tupac Shakur, Will answered with a “F— yeah”. “Oh my god, dude. And, that was in the early days. That was a big regret for me too, cause I could never open up to interact with ‘Pac. Cause we had a little bit of a thing, because you know they grew up together and they loved each other, but they never had a sexual relationship,” Will Smith said.
