Watch New Tupac, Afeni Dear Mama Teaser: Hard To See Your Hero Fall

Watch the new teaser released by FX for the upcoming Allen Hughes directed Afeni and Tupac Shakur docuseries, Dear Mama.

After years in production and multiple delays, FX’s Dear Mama is set to premiere on FX, April 21, 2023 at 10 p.m. ET/PT. The premiere includes two episodes of the 5-part series with the series concluding on May 12th, two days before Mother’s Day.

Dear Mama will be told through the eyes of the people who knew them best. Jasmine Guy, Jamal Joseph, Tim Roth, Mike Tyson, Mickey Rourke and more have been confirmed for the series. Snoop Dogg will also contribute to the series and will provide perhaps the series its most emotional moment. According to Allen Hughes, Snoop Dogg was interviewed in the very same hospital room in Vegas in which Tupac laid before passing away. In the newly released Dear Mama teaser, Tupac’s former manager Leila Steinberg echoing one of Shakur’s most popular poems released on Released on Tupac’s The Rose That Grew from Concrete poetry book, “Afeni was his hero and it’s really hard to see your hero fall.”

The new teaser comes two weeks after FX released the official trailer for the upcoming docuseries. Never-before-seen footage of Tupac was promised and the official trailer has fans already excited. A powerful 2-minute official trailer was released Wednesday (March 22) for the upcoming docuseries which premieres on FX April 21st. “It was my responsibility to teach Tupac how to survive his reality,” says Afeni in the official trailer.

Along with the docuseries the first and only Estate-authorized biography of the legendary artist, Tupac Shakur, will also be released. The book written by author Staci Robinson, is set for a fall 2023 release, but fans have the opportunity to pre-order now on Amazon (Click Here).
