Tupac’s 51st Birthday Celebrated With “Powamekka Café” In L.A.
The Tupac Estate and Fixins Soul Kitchen have come together bringing Tupac’s original idea to life with Powamekka Café.
Now open for business, Powamekka Café will provide an intimate glimpse of Tupac’s life, while continuing to add to his incredible legacy. Located at 800 W. Olympic Boulevard (aka L.A. Live), the restaurant will run until June 30th serving lunch and dinner.
The restaurant is also collaborating with the adjacent Wake Me When I’m Free exhibit currently running at LA Live. The restaurant will carry images and memorabilia from Tupac’s career, in concert with the exhibit, including notebooks that outline the original idea for Powamekka Café.
As seen in the Exhibit and shared by 2Pac’s official Instagram account, Tupac’s vision for the restaurant was labeled as a “Passionate paradise for people with power to play and parlay.” “Come dine on authentic Italian food prepared by renown chef or the finest in home Southern and Creole food from generations of recipes and traditions,” Tupac wrote in the blueprint. “If you want more then we make the best sandwiches on the plate.”
