Anuel AA: Tupac Was Like A God To Me
Billboard Latin Music Award Winner Anuel AA discusses his career, fame and his admiration for Tupac Shakur during his recent appearance on Drink Champs.
During his 2 hour plus interview on Drink Champs, Anuel AA touched on every topic imaginable. When asked by co-host Nore who the Latin artist compared himself to, Anuel AA found it hard to find the right person. That was until he mentioned Tupac Shakur.
The latin megastar has an upcoming documentary ‘30 Days With: Anuel‘ via YouTube Originals. Anuel AA who has become an icon around the globe, is finally letting you see the inside of his world. Considered “one of the founding fathers of Latin trap music”, his first album was made while he was in prison and topped all of the charts the day he was released.
Breaking down the reason he selected Tupac, Anuel says it comes down to his “movement” in the streets. “Like what we see over there, Pac was living like that. What we see over there in the Spanish community. We don’t know. So, If I tell you the way we see it Pac was living like that,” Anuel AA explained on Drink Champs. “The way we see it over there, we live far. I look at myself like Pac. That’s the way we see it over there.”
Not only does Anuel admire the legendary hip hop icon, he also says Tupac is his ultimate feature. “He’s like a God to me,” Aunel AA added. Later in the interview, Nore asked Anuel to pick between Tupac Shakur or DMX, to which the rapper without hesitation selected Tupac.
