Young Jeezy Reveals His Top 2 Tupac Songs Of All Time

Young Jeezy names his top two Tupac songs of all time and how one of those songs made the rapper fall in love with hip hop.

Although a fan of the genre, Jeezy’s love for hip hop did not come until he heard a particular song from Tupac Shakur. Previously labeling Tupac’s music as his bible, helping Young Jeezy navigate through life at a young age. In a recent interview, Jeezy credited Tupac’s music as the reason he fell in love with hip hop.

“I think I fell in love with hip hop when I was actually in this place called…. it was like a boot camp,” Young Jeezy explained on All Urban Central. “I heard Dear Mama and So Many Tears for the first time, cause it was on the radio. I had my walkman and my headphones in and I heard So Many Tears.”

“That was my real first introduction to ‘Pac. I was just like, whatever this guy is doing I want to be a part of it,” he added.

When asked to list his top 5 hip hop artists of all time, It was very clear that Tupac inspired the south legend. “Tupac, Tupac, Tupac, Jay-Z and Juvenile and Project Patt,” said Young Jeezy, basing his top 5 from what he experienced. “Tupac was number one for sure. Project Patt was the first time I heard Memphis music. And it was something about Juvenile when he first came out. He just had this sound that we had never heard in the South. That’s what kind of got me into the whole Cash Money movement. Jay-Z was more like we living in the hood, but he was talking about things we were only imagining. So that let me know that it was possible.”

Jeezy was influenced by Tupac Shakur starting from his early work. His debut album entitled Let’s Get It: Thug Motivation 101 all the way to his TM104, Jeezy childhood favorite artist embedded jewels to his young mind, more than he could ever imagine it would, even till this day. “Everything that he said applies to me today,” Jeezy told MTV back in 2011.

“My favorite Tupac song is Temptations for some reason, but my most meaningful one, it would be So Many Tears. I felt him on that,” concluded Jeezy when asked to list his top 2 Tupac songs of all time.
